I think my main interest in SL is trying to engage with its actual residents - i.e. the people who actually do stuff there for fun - who are these people? Do those other people in SL have the same status in relation to Geodecians as "old world" people in RL?

I guess it would mean a physical TGP presence 24/7, rather than just the odd occasion we meet in there as a group.

If we left something there do you think other SL residents would contact us because of it? I'm not sure they would. I think there is so much 'stuff' in SL that it needs to be more than that. I'm not sure what though.

Could we offer the land up to be used by others?

Yes, exactly, my suggestion was just a way of making the space we might design into something performative rather than static. There's more interesting stuff we could do, but there would be something fluid in the meantime that people could come across by accident. There might need to be something to attract them there though, don't really know how such things work

Set a Geodecian meeting on the land - advertise it - and see if anyone else comes?

Could we offer the land up to be used by others? that might be nice, perhaps a kind of residency for people to respond to the geodecian ideals?

I was thinking of it in this way. I just wondered because of the whole "leaving the old world behind' element to Geodecity There are certain 'new world' features to SL... but then, I was also wondering if that meant we should in fact shun the others

There are certain 'new world' features to SL... but then, I was also wondering if that meant we should in fact shun the others I think if there was a thriving community of Geodecians who wanted to 'get away' from the interference of others, than would make sense. But I think TGP needs to be recruiting, I don't think it is self sufficient at all yet.

DO we want to take any decisions about this point before moving on? What next with the SL land?

Also, if we recruited people online, they'd be more likely to be the sort of people who would turn up to online meetings...
