It's a bit of a way off as it means me sorting both a decent pc and land ownership in SL (as well as finding my sl logon which I may need to close and recreate if I wish to change names) BUT I do hope to get a SL presence set up to tie in with my novels and reality-challenging/jumping cross-media art projects to tie in with the novels.
How much I can realise will depend on how I get on landbuilding, which is a skill I need to learn but with lots of theoretical reading up on over the years may be feasible, how much I can afford which will be influenced by the not great current economic climate (already had a pay freeze so will be getting less well off unless everything stops going up in price or deflates!!!) and if I can do what I want to within SL's technology limitations.
I just love the idea of people being able to visit the landscapes and realities of the novels.....
If you come up with any wishlist stuff for Geodecity-SL ie you can't realise it now but would if you could, post it here, my future self will pick it up in the perfect geodecian future and may make some of it happen. Also ideas for placenames etc.
I have all kinds of weird and fantastical ideas from Myst-like (look Myst series games up on wikipedia etc) puzzle islands (this would be a huge challenge and may not even be possible yet but would be great in terms of novel relevance) to 'the omniversal art gallery' and 'library of many realities' to all kinds of crossovers with different 'unreal' creative worlds and the 'real' world, some of which may even mean contacting the SL peeps to say 'I want to do this, can we make it possible?'
Other geodecians will be welcome to join the pioneers of this fantastical frontier and help realise it when its day dawns.
