I like the idea of a conversation area on the forum What kind of starting point for the far away were you thinking Dogme? will that be enough to write the application?

Aside from Mannheim (where it does make sense to make decisions based on that topic) I would kind-of agree with Winston. If TGP is primarily existing virtually for the time being, I would agree that it should be more 'conversational'.
Right now, I don't have any ideas for Mannheim, which leaves me with the option of either silence, or feeling like I am diverting the discussion form its topic.

Could one of our core goals be to develop an idea to go to Mannheim with, that we as a group are interested in - one step at a time - and then use that as an opportunity to take it further/ If I've understood what you mean, this sounds good to me, I mean I think it would be good to have a question or experiment that the group could go there to investigate. Hmm, perhaps I'm thinking of 'London' where they're investigating 'the problem of London' - without necessarily knowing what that is. Maybe still too vague. Anyway, I don't think we need to spell out what exactly will happen, but just have a starting point that will structure how we interact with the city and people we come across. I guess this is sounding like the stuff a.a.s do a bit, but it'd end up being different because of the geodecian style

So the people of Mannheim are invited to join the Geodecity project while it is in town and will gain a life changing experience in return for their participation in the Geodecian way of life. Through a series of gatherings, workshops and excursions, Geodecians try to find the core concern of the project whilst at the same time finding out more about themselves. "The Geodecity Project: Clear and Open It will change you (for the better)" Yeah! Have you ever felt there was something missing in your life...

If Geodecity is going to do anything it needs to have a way of taking decisions, at present those decisions can only be taken here and in SL - so I guess there has to be threads like this that are about discussing something and taking a decision.

That doesn't stop there being threads that aren't like that - a new area

Agreed. I just think it needs both functions. Conversation can generate unexpected conjunctions that can then be focused on and discussed for better clarity or precision

The call is for projects that address different camps in relation to utopias, far away worlds - Geodecity has been talked about as a Utopia, it is certainly far away at present - could our problem be how we get there as a group?

problem with conversational threads is, of course, that they require a certain amount of activity, which might be hard with the current level of engagement... a vicious spiral

But then with conversational threads is that we needn't necessarily be there at the same time...
