Would people like to try to meet in SL next week? Monday 20th, afternoon/evening? Will someone explain to me how to do this (outside of this forum)

Ishtar: So maybe something quite simple like taking a part of the community culture that we all enjoy and showing it to the outsiders, something like having a Beach Ball Mini Pig tournament for a day, on the beach some where? This would also tick the fun box

I can explain how to join SL to anyone that needs to know this, although I have more limited experience of actually doing stuff in there - if we agree to meet then we can all figure out what we jointly know.

guys, I've got to go now. The basic gist of my engagement is. I like the Geodecity project. I like to have an excuse to spend some time in the country with my friends and to have free food /travel. I like the concepts and ideas the Geodecity project is exploring (especially the arguments!) Not sure whether I want to actively run any aspect of it, but happy to participate and add my two pennies worth when asked. have a lovely evening, Beverley x keep adding your two pennies - you bring a healthy other viewpoint to the project

Miranda: Well we only have to really "promote" what we do to the existing members of the community if we are more looking for their engagement rather than new bees. The blog and Geopedia are already good places for that, I guess if it depends if they look at it and therefore if interested in the first place.

Would people like to try to meet in SL next week? Monday 20th, afternoon/evening? Gah, could do, I'm pretty busy but if others are up for it, I couldn't have Linden as any part of my name (it's the Second Life organisation's staff name so they stop it being used) so I'm just Miranda Flux for now.

Yahoo: Yeah, exactly! And it's a good place to start building on the community 'essence' as well, deciding on how the community likes to do things and what is important to it. Dogme: I can meet in SL monday evening, and I have no real practical knowledge of SL

Yeah, by the way, if anyone doesn't know, a good way of following blogs is to use an RSS feed reader, either online or an application. New posts just turn up like emails

Based on what we thought was the success of the DCA event, we have proposed to do something similar at The Event in Birmingham. This proposal was uploaded to the wiki and we thought this might be a template for more regular get-togethers for groups of Geodecians... just off to read about that and respond, back in a tick (but not a nasty bitey grizedale one)
