Hahahahahaha, yeah! That would have to be arranged, I agree!!
Just had a reply: 'New build, not so long ago, which is very swanky so I hear! Kids - mixed bag, some would love it, others would hate it. 11-14yrs old at the school. Doesn't do much arts stuff!'

yeah yeh a nice bit a vaguery because this is a proposal and then they work with us to iron it out ...i guess
they might have some sort of space that we haven't thought of

Yeah, exactly, I think if we can get across what we're interested in and how we think it would work for them, then a lot of the practical details are secondary

i'd be happy to sleep in the dome. and then for us to problem solve all the other things with potential feral kids in mind. the other thing i was thinking is that schools have really good security now adays don't they so maybe we would be quite secure anyway?

Yeah, we were at Parks Primary, the whole school grounds were fenced off and locked at night. If this is a new built school, I would imagine they have something similar.

okay cool right so we'll say that we will stay on site in domes
build a dome structure with kids - that would be for? developing technology?

do you have any idea how the funding works? it just says £10k pro rata, if it's a week does that mean it's like £200? i must have got that wrong right?

my original thought was a space programme ...maybe building a telescope, doing some star gazing and designing and setting off some homemade rockets
but now that i think of it i dunno if its very geodesian ...and it would mean making kids be there in the dark

It says on the bottom that the fee is £3000 for the project. I think if we say we want to build a dome structure with the kids, but maybe stress that the kids will help us decide what for? Although I like the idea of a star gazing dome And for practical reasons I imagine we'd have to come up with a permanent dome structure that could be adapted to build on the site, as a week would be too short to design and built something too complicated from scratch, I think.

It does get dark at 4pm... maybe we could keep them late on the final evening?

I think so too. Thye could obviously have a hand in decorating it and other smaller things

how did the Geodicity ideas be in the workshop last time? was it like a geodecian event with adults...or did you stick more to building the domes ?

It says on the bottom that the fee is £3000 for the project.. Oh yeah, sorry, missed that, wonder if it includes materials, I think if we say we want to build a dome structure with the kids, but maybe stress that the kids will help us decide what for? Although I like the idea of a star gazing dome And for practical reasons I imagine we'd have to come up with a permanent dome structure that could be adapted to build on the site, as a week would be too short to design and built something too complicated from scratch, I think. Yeah, it'd need to be worked out in advance, test built and stuff, but what it's used for is open to discussion i guess - perhaps they could decorate a cover too?

At the Outpost we did workshops with the kids on Geodecian things, so we had a fire and food session, a dome building session, future visioning etc

I think the 3000 includes materials. It should be doable, I think the PP outpost cost 1400 in materials, Dogme told me. I like the idea of having the dome structure and they decide the purpose and decoration I think in this case we can do a little more on dome construction (non-permanent dome that is), to get the link to the Maths and stuff.
