So, following the Geopedia; are we discussing the future of the Geodecians as a whole, or the future of the Geodecians in November? I think we want to talk about what the Geodecians do next - what practically do we want to do, start talking about specific examples of things that we are all interested in and would be willing to be involved in.

from the blog - do we want to stick with this or refine it? :
The Geodecity Project is an ongoing proposition, developing in collaboration with its participants through a variety of forms, media and locations, and exploring the relationship between utopic ideals and the reality of individuals working together to build communities. In August 2007, groups of pioneers travelled to a rural UK site and took part in a two day event combining survival exercise and future-visioning workshop. Staying overnight in the flat-pack geodesic domes they assembled, participants took this situation as a starting point: If this was to become the ideal ‘future city’, what decisions would need to be put in place now to ensure this fledgling utopia’s survival? Following this event an online wiki was created; enabling Geodecians to further develop the rules, traditions and mythology of their new society. This experiment laid the foundations from which Geodecity grows, and its future will be shaped by the community’s collective desires.

In response to Po's question taking the Non Geodecians to mean the people of Lumsden, I think the Geodecian community appeared much more real to them compared to some of the other people Geodecians included, that it has encountered in the past. Generally people were interested to chat and find out more but most locals were more reluctant to don the tabard and choose a new name.

I think there has been too much emphasis on attracting new members, something I am guilty of, but I think it has distracted from building the community. So I would be keep to develop internally rather than expanding.

We saw the forum as an easy way that Geodecians could communicate with each other, as we have found that the Outposts are too infrequent and often difficult for many Geodecians to attend (even if they would like to).

Well I'm interested in doing stuff in Second Life, haven't had time to do much there yet, but once my friend has got her name set up we'll try building things

maybe some events should be to expand and others to develop as we are?

I think we saw the forum as one of a number of ways to develop the community internally

Raymond; you are welcome to have a go at refining the text statement if you feel it could be built on or improved in some way to better reflect the project or make it seem more attractive to new comers, that goes for any one else as well, it is all open to change at any point

In response to Beverly: as this is the opportunity to define the future of the project, it is now the perfect time to propose what we could all be doing with TGP that would make it the more 'fun' utopia you are interested in.

I am also interested in exploring the possibilities of Second Life for the project.
